Her song Walrus is helping to raise money for WWF and to raise awareness of climate change and its impacts on animals and nature. WWF and the British Antarctic Survey team have used Rachel Makena's song within their social media posts to encourage others to be involved in their Walrus From Space project where citizen science helps to create the first ever whole population walrus census!

Rachel Makena is an acoustic and backing track singer-songwriter performing original and cover songs. Her songs have been played on BBC Introducing Radio Humberside, Vixen 101, Beverley FM and others. Rachel Makena has performed at Trib Fest, Staxtonbury music festival, Filey Folk festival, Beverley fringe and many more.
