Jon Allen Biography
Jon Allen has firmly established himself on the music scene, graduating from The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Influenced by Free, The Faces, and the songwriting of Van Morrison and Elton John, Allen has a profound love for American music, though his sensibilities have crafted a distinctively British sound.
A gifted songwriter with a whisky-soaked voice that has become his trademark, Allen's career took off with his album Dead Man’s Suit, which led to an appearance on BBC's Jools Holland early in his career. This exposure opened doors for syncs with TV, ad campaigns, films, and radio.
With a music catalogue spanning six albums, Allen streams worldwide across all platforms, amassing over 30 million streams on Spotify. He tours with his band, The Luna Kings, and is currently working on his seventh album.
More success came for Jon when his song ‘Going Home’ was chosen for a worldwide TV advert for a well known four-wheel drive vehicle. In the wake of this Jon signed a distribution deal for his first album with UK Label Absolute who have since released all his future output.
In the last ten years Jon has carved out a niche as a recording artist and live performer supporting such acts as Damien Rice, Brian May, Seal and Dionne Warwick whom he supported at the Albert Hall. His songs and distinctive voice can be heard across films and TV both here and in America. In the UK he has appeared on the iconic Later With Jools Holland TV show and as part of the BBC’s coverage of Glastonbury.
When not working on his own material Jon has written songs for Petula Clarke and Record producer Guy Chambers.
His new album ‘…Meanwhile’ is release in 2021.
