About this concert
"They had only been on stage for mere minutes and already my face was aching from the sustained grin.
These strangers who weren't actually Rush made me feel as though I was finally attending a legitimate Rush concert.
The accuracy with which they all play while still maintaining a lighthearted approach to their performance is, well, it's exactly as you'd expect from Rush themselves."
Mark Reid - Rockfiend
Power trio MOVING PICTURES are a RUSH tribute at the top of their game. Playing over 120 shows in 2023/24 including Lakeside Park in Canada for Neil Peart's family and Rush fan conventions in UK, Holland and Brazil.
Tonight's 3 hour show will feature a retrospective of RUSH's career - in the style of their last R40 tour in 2015, that was never brought to Europe.

Rescheduled from the night of Storm Oewyn, to a bizarre Sunday matinee performance instead. I probably wasn't the only one unsure how that might pan out, especially upon arrival at the advertised 3pm time to find the shutters on The Bungalow fully down and a small but perfectly formed queue outside. So apparently Moving Pictures were actually starting at 4pm and all was well.
Recovering from recent leg surgery, I hobbled in on my crutches into what appeared to be the only seat/table combo that didn't have a reserved label on it. These spots are sometimes advertised as 'limited view'. In this case it was 'no view' whatsoever. Not to worry, I've seen these guys countless times and other than the stunning vision that is Jamie on drums, ears are more important than eyes here ;-)
Announcing a 'sort of' R40 set, featuring career highlights played in reverse order. We started a backwards traverse starting with the good stuff, ending several hours later with the really good stuff.
Not being fortunate enough, or should I say 'old enough' to have seen Rush live at The Glasgow Apollo during those halcyon days of 2112 tours or Farewell To Kings, Moving Pictures never fail to transport me back in time to a feeling that must closely resemble what it must have been like had I been there, head to toe in denim with a large 2112 Starman patch stitched across my back ? I started attending Rush gigs around the Hold Your Fire tour in '87, and as much as I saw them loads, I really craved that authentic 70's era vibe.
First half a splendid array of various cuts from Clockwork Angels all the way back to (was it ?) Permanent Waves or maybe that one kicked off part two ? But that second half 'festival of all things 70's Rush' that followed was what I'd come to see..ahem... "hear". As any Rush aficionado knows, that shit ain't easy to play. So to hear these three, two blokes and one girl, churn this stuff out with the greatest of ease, was simply fantastic. 10/10 fav: Xanadu.

Moving Pictures - Rush Tribute - Scotland Biography
Power trio MOVING PICTURES are a Rush tribute at the top of their game. Playing over 50 gigs in 2023 including Lakeside Park in Canada for Neil Peart's family.
Favourites of Planet Rock's Darren Redick - who has been known to join them on stage.
They have recordings on all 4 Songs for Neil tribute albums, including performances with Terry Brown, Hugh Syme and Jacob Moon.
On hearing their original arrangement of AFTERIMAGE, Alex Lifeson wrote "Very moving and beautifully done. Heartfelt thanks to the band for their kind tribute."
Featuring drummer Jamie Dunleavey - this young lady from St Andrews is scarily on point.
It takes a unique set of skills to sing AND play bass AND play keys like Geddy Lee - John Power is incredibly accurate.
Guitarist Steve Brown is a lifelong Rush fan and pro player with way too many guitars and wicked sense of humour - not unlike a certain Mr Lifeson.

Mark Reid - Rockfiend
"To emulate 3 of the highest musical calibre artists, with such gusto, was seriously impressive. "
“That was the 3rd best Rush show I’ve ever seen. The first 2 were Rush.”
"My Villa has never been so brilliantly strangled."
