Augusta (FR) Biography

It’s the simple stuff that make Augusta tick. She’s based in Paris now, but her heart is far to the south. In a farmhouse, perched on the side of a hill, within sight of the Pyrenees. It’s about the people who share her life, observing relationships, witnessing the joys, quirks and occasional tragedies of life. Augusta has tried to take the essence of this and distilled it into a sound of her own. What others have to say is probably more important…

“This is the kind of song that could have been written [...] in the mountains in the 40s, by a Greenwich Village poet in the 60s, or by a prescient, wise soul in the 2020s.” - Ear to the Ground on The Feeling’s Gone

“We get to enjoy Augusta’s pure vocals as she sings over the sound of the guitar and the simplicity of it is spectacular.” - Music is My Life on I’m Going Changing

Augusta’s genre is somewhere amongst Folk, Indie Folk and Singer-Songwriter. Think: Laura Marling, Billie Marten, Alice Phoebe Lou, Anna Leone, Adrianne Lenker / Big Thief, First Aid Kit, Julia Jacklin ...in her dreams! And these musicians have particularly inspired her: Courtney Marie Andrews, Nathaniel Rateliff, Watchhouse, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons ..to name but a few.

Performing recently in France, Britain and Spain, Augusta’s also supported the likes of Tom Rosenthal and J.E. Sunde. She'll be going on tour with Black Sea Dahu this autumn to open for the German leg of their European tour. Keep an eye out for the tour dates!
