About this concert
Darin and Brooke Aldridge, the highly acclaimed Bluegrass and Americana duo, are back with "Talk of the Town", their tenth recorded project together and second release on Billy Blue Records and celebrates the space the husband-and-wife team now occupies - the top of bluegrass music. Released on April 19, 2024, "Talk of the Town" debuted #1 on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Album Chart (their first Billboard #1 album) and produced the #1 single, "Price I Pay", made famous originally by the Desert Rose Band. The bands lead singer and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Chris Hillman, was so excited when he heard their version before release that he asked and was granted its radio debut on his show on Sirius XM. In another twist, Desert Rose Band original member John Jorgenson guested on this track. The album also features another #1 track, "Jordan" which pairs Darin & Brooke with such luminaries as Ricky Skaggs, Mo Pitney and Mark Fain. Country Music Hall of famer and close friend and former collaborator Vince Gill returned on this album to sing on the song "A Million Miles" that he wrote about his friend and mentor Byron Berline. Darin and Brooke continue to ascend to new heights in the industry while maintaining their easy-going, down-to-earth connection with audiences everywhere. Brooke is a four-time consecutive winner and reigning Female Vocalist of the Year for the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). She was nominated for a fifth time in 2021 while Darin is a former IBMA Mentor of the Year and a truly gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist. Darin and Brooke have also been recognized with the IBMA’s nomination for 2021 Vocal Group of the Year. They have had multiple nominations over the years from the IBMA, the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA), and the Inspirational Country Music Association. On April 18, 2023, they were named “Bluegrass Artists of the Year” at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards. They have enjoyed top spots on the Billboard, SiriusXM, Bluegrass Today, Bluegrass Unlimited, Americana/Roots, and Gospel charts. Their music videos have been featured on Country Music Television (CMT), CMT Edge, Great American Country (GAC), Bluegrass Ridge TV, and The Bluegrass Situation. Their television appearances include PBS’ Mountain Stage, Songs of the Mountain and Music City Roots; RFD-TV’s Larry’s Country Diner, Country’s Family Reunion, The Huckabee Show, and The Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour; Great American Gospel, The Bluegrass Road, and Blue Highways TV. They have graced the Grand Ole Opry stage more than 55 times. A career highlight from their previous album was “He’s Getting Me Ready,” a gospel rouser featuring Country Music Hall of Fame members The Oak Ridge Boys. It spent an incredible, record setting 5 month atop the Bluegrass/Gospel Chart. Their long touring history includes tours of Ireland, Prague, Canada and all of the US, headline festivals along with sold-out theater shows and has seen them enjoy co-bills with Bluegrass Hall of Famer John Cowan, John Jorgenson,.Country Music Hall of Famer's Jimmy Fortune and The Oak Ridge Boys. In following the path of their dreams, Brooke once noted, “We want our music to lift people up.” “It was an early goal of ours to put a positive message out there,” adds Darin, “and we decided a long, long time ago that we were going to be us, no matter what.” There’s a lot about the new generation of bluegrass that sure is inspiring. And Darin and Brooke are two of my favorites of this great new generation. I’m flattered that they included me in their new record and even better, to find out they are equally as great as people”. ~Vince Gill “Brooke asserts herself as one of the more powerful female vocalists on the scene…” ~Relix Magazine “Husband and wife duo Darin & Brooke Aldridge have carved out one of the fastest rising careers on the acoustic music scene today.” ~Billboard Magazine For more on Darin and Brooke Aldridge, please visit www.darinandbrookealdridge.com

Darin & Brooke Aldridge Biography

Darin and Brooke Aldridge ► http://www.facebook.com/darin.brooke.aldridge ◄

Husband and wife duo Darin & Brooke Aldridge draw on the traditions of their native North Carolina, the savvy of a young, gifted band and their own dedication to ingenuity to create the most adventurous album of their career with their latest critically acclaimed release, "Talk of the Town", which shortly after release in April topped the Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart not once but twice, giving them their 1st ever #1 Billboard album.

The duo has placed numerous tracks at the top of the charts on Roots, SiriusXM, Bluegrass and Gospel charts. They have received multiple nominations from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and Inspirational Country Music (ICM). Their music videos “Wildflower”, “Tennessee Flat Top Box”, "Jordan" and most recently “Grand Ole Circle” were heavily featured on outlets including CMT, CMT Edge, GAC, Bluegrass Ridge TV and The Bluegrass Situation. TV appearances include PBS, Great American Gospel, The Bluegrass Road, RFD-TV, Blue Highways TV, Songs of the Mountain, Woodsongs, Larry’s Country Diner and Music City Roots.
Both highly acclaimed vocalists in their own right (Brooke is the 3-time reigning IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year), Darin and Brooke combine rich harmonies with impeccable musicianship to create the unmistakable sound that has made them one of the hottest young acts in acoustic music and they’ve surrounded themselves with a band of equally amazing pickers. Darin spent 6 years as a member of the acclaimed County Gentleman and is a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist. Brooke has been lauded for having one of the most powerful voices in music of any genre. Darin was named the IBMA’s Momentum Mentor of the Year in 2017 for his efforts at teaching and mentoring youth on guitar and mandolin and for giving unselfishly of his time and talents at public events at places like the Earl Scruggs Center in Shelby, NC

Snapshots, their highly acclaimed album, made its debut at the #8 spot on The Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart in April of 2016 and by May the first single “Tennessee Flat Top Box” had claimed the #1 position on the Bluegrass Today and Bluegrass Unlimited Charts. They ended the year by placing three songs from the album at #1 and earning critical praise in Bluegrass, Contemporary Christian and Americana.

Faster and Farther, their 2017 project, showcased appearances by special guest artists like New Grass Revival/Doobie Brothers legend, close friend, mentor and 2016 touring partner John Cowan, New Grass Revival member Pat Flynn, Country Music Hall of Famer and close friend Vince Gill, Union Station bassist Barry Bales and more. It was hailed by critics as their best yet and several songs from the album have reached the Top of the Bluegrass Today, Bluegrass Unlimited and Roots Music report charts.
In September of 2017 they were invited to join an all-star cast of noted musicians from the world of Country, Rock, Blues, Gospel and Bluegrass to take part in a benefit song and subsequent video titled “All Come Together”. The brainchild of award winning co-writers John Berry and Chuck Jones, it paired them singing with Blues legend Keb’ Mo’, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Oates (Hall & Oates), Doobie brother John Cowan, Country stars Bryan White, Heidi Newfield (Trick Pony), Casey James (American Idol), Collin Raye, Robin Berry, Dave Innis and Paul Gregg (Restless Heart) and Gospel great Mike Farris. It was a fundraiser for Samaritan’s Purse and the proceeds went to help victims of Hurricane’s Harvey and Irma.

2018 had them touring in high profile settings more than ever. In January they appeared in 3 sold out shows Prague, Czech Republic with John Cowan, returned to Merlefest in April of that year, they made their debut appearance on the acclaimed PBS series Mountain Stage and a enjoyed a tour in Ireland, where they headlined a large annual music festival there. They appeared in August of 2018 on RFD-TV as part of the highest rated show on the network, Larry’s Country Diner as well as Country’s Unbroken Circle television series.
Darin and Brooke enjoyed a very busy touring year in 2019 with shows in theatres and high profile festival dates spanning the country, along with their first headlining appearance on the Country Music Cruise and several appearances on the Grand Ole Opry. In fact, over the past 2 years they have appeared on the famed stage of the Grand Ole Opry 17 times.

Inner Journey, their 8th album, was released on October 18, 2019 on the Rounder Records to great fanfare, debuting at #2 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart. The first single topped the Bluegrass Today chart as well. Henry Carrigan of No Depression Magazine writes; “Inner Journey showcases Darin and Brooke Aldridge’s stunning harmonies, highlighting the somber and poignant beauty of two voices almost effortlessly finding each other and matching each other perfectly note-for-note. Few albums can come close to matching the sheer beauty of the music itself here.”

Their latest project, "This Life We're Livin'" on Billy Blue Records has spawned multiple chart topping hits on both the Bluegrass and Gospel charts, with a single, "Jordan", a collaboration with the Multi-Hall of Famer Ricky Skaggs and hit makers Mo Pitney & Mark Fain, topping the Bluegrass/Gospel Chart!

2023 had Darin & Brooke playing festivals, theaters and performing arts center series, along with new music in both the gospel world as well as a new Christmas album and tour and 2024 hasn't slowed with their new album and aggressive touring to support it.
