Kärma Sounds doesn't just perform music—she lives it, breathes it, and uses it to make a tangible impact. With every note, she aims to soothe, energize, and inspire her listeners, making every performance a profound experience. Kärma Sounds is Karina Morin, a Montreal-born, Vancouver-based artist, who taugh herself to sing beforeshe could walk, listening to her Father’s treasured record collection, steeped in Jazz, Soul and Blues. She moved from Qc to BC to continue her studies at The Canadian Colledge of Performing Arts in Victoria. She has been the charismatic front-woman of the globe-trotting funk ensemble Coco JAFRO captivating audiences at prestigious festivals like the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Salmon Arm Roots and Blues, Kaslo Jazz Festival and many more. A sought-after vocalist, she has toured Europe and the French Caribbean, offering her vocal talents to renowned artists like French soul sensation Corneille. She has also provided backing vocals for acclaimed Canadian soul artist Khari Wendell McClelland, and has opened for the legendary Lauryn Hill at the Vancouver International Jazz Fest. Her latest solo project - Kärma Sounds is a captivating blend of retro R&B, electro-soul, 80s nostalgia, and jazz. Her sultry vocals glide over smooth synths and dynamic beats, crafting a sound that feels both timeless and fresh, evoking the warmth of vintage vinyl and the vibrancy of a neon-lit cityscape. Drawing inspiration from classic soul icons like Sade, Prince, and contemporary artists Charlotte Day Wilson and Kali Uchis, Kärma’s music merges old-school soul with modern flair. Her critically acclaimed singles “Cake & Eat It” and "Waiting 4" have cemented her reputation, gaining recognition on local radio, Wave 98.3, CKUA Edmonton, as well as National spins on CBC, Spotify Editorials, and international stations such as ; Panacea Soul Radio UK.
