A member of The Magpies, Bella Gaffney is renowned for her folk-inspired songwriting and her unique arrangements of traditional pieces. Bella’s live shows are a tour-de-force in folk storytelling, leaving audiences with earworm melodies, foot-tapping rhythms and grinning from ear to ear from her off-beat brand of humour. Bella was once again a brilliant singer, banjo and guitar player, joke teller and entertainer. A must see whenever in town. Folk music without getting dull or morbid. What's there not to like. Thank you Bella. And the venue is very intimate and weird for a gig. Well worth it.

Bella Gaffney Biography

2016 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award winner Bella Gaffney hails from Bradford. She writes folk inspired songs which she performs along with her own original arrangements of traditional pieces. 2023 will see the release of Bella’s new album which is inspired by connections made over the lockdown period. Bella also plays with transatlantic folk band The Magpies.
