Midas Biography
MIDAS – Bio 2024
A “Flying Start” would accurately characterise Midas’ entry into the Dutch music scene in 2017. His debut album “Heavy Moon” was extremely well received. Just like the mythical Greek God, Midas, everything this young songwriter touched turned to gold.
Within mere months, he was on stage at Pinkpop, Tuckerville, and Down the Rabbit Hole. He ap- peared in various TV shows and even opened for Eddie Vedder and Bob Dylan.
His second album, “Magic Glasses” (2022), was produced by Darius Timmer, recorded on the farm where Midas now resides. The album earned glowing reviews. “An absolute masterpiece” was how Jean-Paul Heck described it in Soundz.
Since then, Midas has not slowed down. He returned to the recording studio with Darius Timmer. This time, he was supported by his musician friends Jasja Offermans on bass guitar, and Guy Pek on drums.
They will also present live performances, featuring tracks from the new album they are completing, as well as selections from Heavy Moon and Magic Glasses. They will be joined on stage by keyboardist Reid Steenhuis.
Expect a colossal soundscape complete with blazing guitars and mellow chords that would have been totally fitting for the 70s.
Alternative Pop, with little detours to Folk and Rock.
