Two lovers are thwarted by the power-hungry Scarpia while the fiery prima donna Tosca is pushed past sanity when her only hope for freedom means submitting to the evil Baron’s lecherous desires.

Ilya Silchukou Biography

Ilya Silchukou is a Belarusian baritone known for his dramatic performances and powerful Kavalier baritone voice. With a career spanning Europe’s most prestigious opera houses, Ilya has sung roles from Rusalka at Teatro alla Scala Milano to Eugene Onegin at Teatr Wielki Warsaw. His performances have taken him to renowned stages like the Royal Opera La Monnaie, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Frankfurt Oper ,Théâtre du Capitol Toulouse ,and the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, among many others.

In addition to his operatic successes, Ilya is an experienced concert performer, with repertoire that includes Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, and Tchaikovsky’s Moscow Cantata. His career has earned him over 15 international awards, including the H.G. Belvedere Competition in Vienna and CLIP Portofino Competition.

In 2021, Ilya relocated to Boston with his family after fleeing Belarus, a story covered by The Boston Globe and The Associated Press News . Recent engagements include house debuts at Seattle Opera and Boston Opera Collaborative in the 2024/2025 season.
