OPEN ROAD music band Biography
OPEN ROAD is a French band formed in 1993 by François Borne and Jef Aerosol.
The band first existed as a duet from 1993 to 2000 and reformed seventeen years later in 2017.
Open Road is now a four piece band with Kelu Abstract on bass and French Behar on drums.
Their name comes from the Donovan album Open Road, released in 1970.
Steeped in Anglo-Saxon culture and fed with the legacy of great British and American singers-songwriters, Jef and François write and sing in english. And if references and inspirations are necessary, let’s say that the likes of Donovan, Dylan, Neil Young, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Nick Drake, Mike Scott, Elliott Murphy and Jackson C. Frank have frequent stays on their turntables …
All members of the band live in Lille, France and have various other musical activities apart from the band.
