Nederlands Blazers Ensemble

The New Year’s concerts of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble are true happenings. Concerts full of connection, with music that is as catchy as it is innovative, from all corners of the world. In the ultimate New Year’s concert, the ensemble presents its most precious and funniest moments. And, needless to say, both old-timers and new NBE stars of various cultures take the stage in this colourful sound biography. About thirty years ago, oboist Bart Schneemann took over the artistic direction of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble. Under his direction, the New Year’s concerts grew into the ensemble’s showpiece in the concert hall as well as on TV. Since then, the concerts have become just as much a part of New Year’s Day as ski jumping and the Viennese Waltz.
