Mark Farner's American Band

Mark Farner never disappoints. His vocals were spot on. The band was incredible, and the harmonies were impeccable. I didn't know what to expect with an acoustic set, but it was pure Mark Farner Rock & Roll and kicked ass!

Mark gives 100%. Very entertaining & he is full of high energy. He is one of the best guitar players of all time. It was an excellent show & the band was tight.

Mark is the best and so pro! Worked through a power outage, still came back out , was able to joke about it and complete his set! Second time I’ve seen him within a year’s time. I’m a fan dating back to his days with Grand Funk! I got to seem him with Funk back in 1996 when the original band was touring. He got a raw deal from GFR!

Mark was electric. It was loud and fast. Even when he played southern man.

Mark Farner still has the chops. He is backed by a terrific group of musicians which together deliver a super tight rock infused musical experience. Marks singing is still very much intact. I really enjoyed his show while remembering the first time I saw Grand Funk in 1971 at the Forum in Los Angeles. Personally, I really do not believe that the old GF drummer has the chops to keep up with Farner. As a drummer, I know how exhausting it is and these guys really brought it "Closer to Home". God Bless Mark Farner and his terrific American Band for a wonderful show and him keeping the GF experience alive.

I bet it was great but I didn’t go because the tickets were absurdly expensive $$$

He was the heart of grand funk and puts on a great show! If seeing grand funk was on your bucket list as it was mine see him and his new band! You won't be disappointed!

Okay, I may be prejudiced, because I, like Mark, am a "Flintstone"...born and raised in Flint, Michigan (he's got a couple years on me). That said, Mark's show last night was GREAT! High-energy! At 74 years of age, this rock legend's still got it...and he left it all on the McMorran stage. Mark and his talented "American Band" band played Grand Funk's greatest hits and added a couple more that made the night a trip back in time. The atmosphere was super-charged in the nearly full-house--and that energy worked from the back of the house, to the stage, and back again. Although, original GFR members, Mel and Donny, are dong shows under the Grand Funk Railroad name, as talented as they are, I cannot imagine a "Grand Funk" show without the talent of GFR front-man, Mark Farner. On guitar, he is amazing! His vocals cut to the heart. And he was equally as adept on drums and keyboard. He was a gracious host that connected with his Port Huron audience. McMorran Auditorium is a great venue which lends to a feeling of being "up-close and personal" with the performing artist. All in all, a memorable night with Mark Farner and his American Band! Now, back to the future!

Mark could still sing and play. His band was great. Good times despite some incoherent/wacky political/social messaging between songs. Still love GFR!

This was my first time to the Blue Gate and I was not a bit disappointed. The seating was roomy and comfortable. The theater is very wide, where I would not want the seating on the outside edges as the stage viewing wouldn't be optimal. I learned part of the building use to be the Hudson car museum. I guess my only complaint was the selection of beer which was Budweiser. If you're a Budweiser fan you're in luck. They do allow drinks in the auditorium.

Fantastic show. I felt like I was at Cobo Arena in Detroit Michigan at the Grand Funk show.

Beautiful day to listen to some GQQD music. It was great to see Mark Farner; it made my day. Him & Club Phred played well together. Came home and played GFR all night. Hope he comes back to this area. THank you Mark Farner!

Club Phred opened and were fantastic! Then Mark came on and, using Club Fred as his backing band, played a solid, enjoyable, authentic set. He STILL has it and sounds more like Grand Funk than the band currently using the name. I can't wait to see both bands again. Keith & Liza Y. - Lancaster, PA

He rocked the place! He played like he was in his 20s not 70s! He hasn't lost a step! Vocals were fantastic! Guitar work just as great as ever! That was a show! His band was fantastic! Great night for a concert. One to remember!

Mark Farner made Grand Funk Railroad. Without him Grant Funk isn’t the same it is way less. Don should get his head out and reunite!!! Farner you rocked it at Fraze and for $5. Old School Cool!!!! Thank for great time!!!

Great except the drunks ruined my night why serve alcohol its rediculous many older people left... Thanks Everett theater for ruining the show...
