Hamish Stuart

Hamish Stuart gained fame as a member of the Average White Band, a Scottish funk and R&B group, in the 1970s. He played guitar and bass, and was also their highly distinctive vocalist. After leaving the band, his musical journey continued as he collaborated with icons like Paul McCartney, Aretha, Chaka Khan, Ringo Starr and Michael McDonald. Stuart's skills across multiple instruments and his astonishingly soulful voice make him a sought-after musician in the industry. He continues to lead his own band and his searing and soulful trademark musicianship graces festivals and shows all over the world. ‘Songs & Stories’ places a UK music luminary centre stage, alongside multi-award winner, singer, pianist and broadcaster, Shaw, up-close and personal. Shaw has interviewed (and often performed at the club with) the likes of Van Morrison, Monty Alexander, Frank Sinatra Junior, George Benson, Madeline Bell, Claire Martin, Pee Wee Ellis amongst many others.
