Nick Murphy

Nick Murphy, with his project Chet Faker, was one of the first to burst out of the Soundcloud streaming world and onto the global stage with the release of the 2014 platinum-selling LP Built on Glass. He spent the next half decade criss-crossing the world, traveling with a microphone in his suitcase, recording the first Nick Murphy full-length, 2019’s Run Fast Sleep Naked, on the fly.

In early 2020, after needing “all the silence in the world to unpack things," Murphy released the instrumental album Music for Silence, initially through a parternship with Calm and then via his own label, Detail Records. The Melbourne-bred singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist resides in New York City, from where he recently announced a second Chet Faker record, Hotel Surrender.
