In 2025, Michael Robert Murphy finally drops his long awaited debut solo album 'Chaos Magick' June 20th, kickstarting with first single 'Lift The Curse' and brand new single 'Prometheus Fountain' .
Michael’s journey since going solo has been an intriguing organic trip, walking us through the many dimensions of his songwriting and showcasing why the singer-songwriter of once Liverpool Psych Rockers The Wicked Whispers is one of the most imaginative and emotionally charged artists in the city.
Beginning with a critically acclaimed lo-key debut EP 'Metamorph' (Featuring the highly contagious ‘Out Of Sight’ and ballad 'Dry Those Tears') stripping down the songs and writing down to the core showing Michael's rawness and topically truthful and open.
In 2021, James Skelly of The Coral came on board to produce and feature on 2 brand new singles, 'Puzzles’ and 'Holding On' recorded with Chris Taylor at Parr Street Studios before its closure. These 2 singles surfaced also as a sell out Double A-Side 7" released on AV8 Records and led to Michael's first hometown headline show at The Arts Club in Liverpool where Michael played a career spanning set of Terrain, Whiskey Headshot, The Wicked Whispers and Solo tracks alike.
