Just Khakis

Just Khakis is a soul/pop band that blends the timeless grooves of jazz with the infectious energy of mainstream pop. Formed in 2022, the band’s roots trace back to a group of high school friends who reunited in college, eventually adding a few new faces to complete the seven-piece lineup. The group—consisting of Christian Affleck (vocals), Field Behrens (bass), Marty Bodell (saxophone), Jacob Farnsworth (keys), TJ Neyman (trumpet), Curtis Schnitzer (drums), and Thomas Wintch (guitar)—originally got together to play a few weddings, but it wasn’t long before they quickly caught the attention of local music fans. After entering a battle of the bands, they wrote several original songs and took home the win, marking the beginning of their journey as a serious act.
Influenced by musical legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder, and modern soul-pop bands like Lawrance, Just Khakis infuses pop, jazz, funk, and soul into a sound that’s both fresh and timeless. Their live performances are filled with energy, chemistry, and a connection to the audience that’s impossible to ignore.
Over the past few years, Just Khakis has shared the stage with acts like The Strike, won multiple competitions, and played to sold-out crowds. They’ve also made waves with exciting collaborations, including working with clothing brand Lonely Ghost and the Utah Jazz NBA team, writing and performing an original song for the launch of a new line at the Jazz stadium.
Currently, the band is hard at work on new music, with several releases planned for this year. Above all, Just Khakis aims to bring people together through music and experience, proving that even in challenging times, there’s always room for joy, unity, and rhythm.
