The Boys and Girl in the Band
Singer, guitarist, and frontman Dave McDonald is a professional musician born and raised in Austin Texas. In addition to fronting Steel Betty, he plays in the Austin based west African band Zoumountchi and works as a guitarist for Zach Scott Theater. He loves golden brown foods, unicycling, storytelling, and playing with Steel Betty.
Madeleine Froncek is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist living in Austin, TX. In addition to playing in Steel Betty, Maddy plays bass in her multilingual folk quartet, Ley Line. Maddy climbs rocks, bikes mountains, and is a semi-professional bird impersonator.
Micah Motenko is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and mandolin player from Brookline, MA. In addition to Steel Betty, he enjoys playing with other bands around town including Wild Bill and the Lost Knobs. He likes to cook, loves a groovy beat, and prefers cats. You can catch him playing at South Austin Brewery on Saturday afternoons and on Tuesdays at Dozen St.
