MEGG Biography
MEGG is a commanding performer with a voice to match. “Keep your eyes and ears open for this powerful pop-rock package”, says Patrice Rushen. As a songwriter, MEGG’s personal journey and Southern California upbringing fuel her music and lyrics. Her artistic reach is as broad as her experience in the creative world. MEGG’s ambitious and seasoned abilities are not by chance, due to her training at the coveted Los Angeles High School for the Arts, where she performed in such pieces as Les Miserables and Urinetown, as well as her education from the Popular Music Program at USC’s Thornton School of Music. Prior to USC, MEGG led the pop group Runway MMC from 2006 to 2008. Runway MMC’s rise was an eye-opening experience that took her around the country – writing, performing, and recording. Simultaneously, she launched the highly sought after Runway MMC clothing line that sold throughout the country, from 200 Wet Seal Stores to the trendsetting boutique, The Closet. Runway MMC’s success is a testament to MEGG’s instinct to unite music with fashion. MEGG also understands that with her God-given talents, she can reach teenagers in need, and is the Vice President of the b.i.y.a.y.c.d.a. Foundation (believe in yourself and you can do anything). Her first release, The EP, is a mixture of pop and rock with loud guitars and memorable hooks. Of the tracks, most of the tracks were written by MEGG and recorded at Angelhouse Studios in 2010. She has performed songs from this release at the world-renowned Concours d’Elegance, opened for The Used at the Musink Festival and performed at LA’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, as well as, venues all over Los Angeles. MEGG is currently at work recording the next release, a hard hitting, in-your-face collection of MEGG’s loud opinions and evolving personal experiences. “These songs are very different from the first recordings, in the sense that when I moved out, I was forced to grow up a little. I started creating my own opinions about my past, my present and ultimately trying to figure out who I am, not only as an artist but as a young adult in society. My musical inspirations changed as well, and I’m just in a different place now. These songs are honest and I’m stoked to share them with everyone,” says MEGG. Not only is she a solo artist, but she’s also the lead singer of Party For One, a 5 piece alternative/rock/pop punk band made up of friends she met at USC. With production and engineering by Pool Party Records and musical collaboration with her band mates, Party For One released an EP titled Brunch Money. new single 'Trash' iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/trash-single/id1044355370 SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/officialmeggmusic/trash
