Chroma Sea

Chroma Sea is an audio-visual project based in San Francisco, California, composed of Paul Ouellette, Michael Valenzuela and Chris Otchy. The trio combines spacious soundscapes and complex rhythms making music that is as intricate as it is meditative. Their recent album Portals, released by Ryan Celsius Sounds, has been described as “an aqueous ambient techno adventure.”

For their live sets, they play a mix that spans their eclectic discography that ranges from Trip Hop, IDM, DnB and Shoegaze. They blend effect-drenched guitars, thumping beats and synths dripping in reverb with psychedelic visuals filmed by the band themselves and remixed by a variety of visual artists local to the bay. The aim is to transport audiences away from their daily worries and into nature with music that is as thoughtful as it is stimulating.
