Nathan Harris

Nathan Harris is a guitarist/singer-songwriter originally from Harmony, NC. He spent many years doing “hired-gun” work with a myriad of artists across many genres (punk, rock, folk, country, RnB, pop, jazz), which started in 2016 while attending UNC Chapel Hill. After years of experience on the road with numerous bands in 3 countries and 10 states, Harris started his own group, “Nathan Harris & the Flood”, in the summer of 2024. He released his first EP under his own name later the same year.

The Flood, led by Harris, is a collective of Charlotte’s finest musicians. The band exists as a rotating “hive-mind” of players who can be found playing with a number of different NC and Regional acts. “The Flood”, is a reference to an alien species from Harris’ favorite game series, “Halo”.

Harris’ focus is bringing together people from different cultures and backgrounds, inviting them to come along in the journey of sonic exploration, in hopes of the realization we are not all that different from one another. The group blends genres like alternative rock, southern blues, RnB, and jazz to form a unique, groovy sound.

They primarily play songs written by Harris, but are known to weave in songs from other artists in the Charlotte music scene, band members other/previous projects, and the many heroes throughout the rich tapestry of American music.
