About this concert
The Yellowjackets, formed in the late 1970s, have become one of jazz's most influential groups, with 26 albums, 16 Grammy® nominations, and 2 wins. Initially a backup band for Robben Ford, they evolved into a trio before adding saxophonist Bob Mintzer. Over the years, the lineup has changed, but their high-quality musicianship has remained constant, with current members Russell Ferrante, William Kennedy, Bob Mintzer, and bassist Dane Alderson. Alderson brings fresh energy with his exceptional rhythmic sensibility. Their 2022 album Parallel Motion earned a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, further cementing their legacy. Jackets XL with the WDR Big Band (2021) was also Grammy-nominated, showcasing their continuous reinvention through their signature electro-acoustic sound. As NPR says, "the Yellowjackets remain at the top of their game."

Yellowjackets Biography
The Yellowjackets are an American jazz fusion quartet.
The current lineup consists of Marcus Baylor (drums, percussion), Russell Ferrante (piano, keyboards, synthesizers), Jimmy Haslip (electric basses), and Bob Mintzer (saxophones, bass clarinet, EWI).
Mintzer joined the group in 1991. Baylor joined the group in 2000. The original group, called The Robben Ford Group, consisted of Robben Ford (guitar), Ricky Lawson (drums), Russell Ferrante, and Jimmy Haslip. Ford had originally assembled the group to record Inside Story, but left in 1978, seeking a more vocal and commercial sound. Ricky Lawson left in 1986 to tour with Lionel Richie.
Other members have included Mark Russo (1985-1989; saxophones), William Kennedy (1987-1999; drums), Peter Erskine (1999; drums), and Terri Lynn Carrington (2000, drums).
