She followed with more worldwide hit albums and singles including ‘Black Angel’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Carefree’, and has collaborated with many respected artists such as Prince and Jools Holland leading to her to being considered one of the UK’s most respected female singers with the terrific range, power, and sheer soulfulness of her voice.  Her most recent album “Gospel” was released to critical acclaim and #1 in the UK R&B Album charts.  The album features an original song “The Struggle”, telling the story of Mica’s meeting with Gladys Knight, as well as spellbinding versions of Rag ‘N’ Bone Man’s “Human”; John Newton’s hymn “Amazing Grace”; Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is”; and U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”. Mica was awarded an MBE in the 2020 Birthday Honours for services to music, entertainment and charity. "Soul music has become soulless since the high-water mark of the 1960s.
