Edinburgh label Hobbes Music celebrates twelve years of releasing music on vinyl, with the full UK label crew bringing live sets plus Auntie Flo playing a b2b with label boss Hobbes. ⥊ Auntie Flo aka Brian d’Souza is an award-winning sound artist, DJ, music producer and live performer known for ‘taking World Music into the future’ (The Guardian). Winner of the SAY Award for ‘Radio Highlife’ and Electronic Musician of the Year by Nordoff Robbins cementing him as a central figure in a ‘new strand of club music fusing electronic and world influences’ (The Wire). He has been touring his global grooves for more than a decade but started out here, at The Bongo Club, in Edinburgh. A friend of Hobbes since that time, he released a track on the HM label's first 12" way back in 2013 and remixed another act on the label in 2015. ⥊ Just as the Hobbes Music label likes to blur the lines between dance music and records that work well on your headphones, this event will blur the lines between a live gig and a regular clubbing experience, a bit like a festival. From dream pop husband-and-wife duo Sarah/Shaun's five-piece band, Accident Machine's modern flip of acid house, Gaming's cut-up breaks-n-bleeps, Exterior's un-categorisable tour de force (techno-trance-prog?!) and then Jacksonville plumbing the grooviest depths of classic techno, electro and house motifs, there's a LOT going on early doors and late from the HM crew....
