JOAO

Brazilian born Singer/Songwriter JOAO blends acoustic guitar and powerful melodic elements with electronic components to create a mellow and rich acoustic pop sound. With engaging lyrics and big choruses he draws his influence from artists like Ed Sheeran, Alec Benjamin and John Mayer.

Coming from the sunny city of Campinas, JOAO began to play guitar at a young age after being inspired by the then newly released John Mayer single “Daughters”. As he became more proficient on his instrument he began to start writing songs and grew passionate about creating new music. In early 2015 he attended the Souza Lima College of Music in São Paulo, and later in 2018 he joined the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Songwriting and had the opportunity to learn and work with some of the most renowned names in the music industry.

His debut 4 track EP “Bittersweet” released in January 2021 combines warm and sweet-sounding music with melancholic lyrics providing a contrasting yet consistent and easy to listen music experience. “Bittersweet” is now available on all streaming platforms.
