About this concert
FANNING DEMPSEY NATIONAL PARK ANNOUNCE THE DELUGE 2025 REGIONAL TOUR  “...a collaboration that transcends the sum of its parts…this partnership isn’t just something to be heard—it’s something that demands to be experienced live”. The AU Review   Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey are two of the most revered and successful Australian artists of the last 30 years.   The esteemed pair launched new project Fanning Dempsey National Park releasing their highly acclaimed debut album ‘The Deluge’ and capped off 2024 with a sold out headline tour and a spectacular performance on ABC NYE 2024 broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide.   Fanning Dempsey National Park marks new terrain for both artists, “We agreed straight away there's no point doing something together if it's going to be what people think it's going to be,” says Paul. “It’s not the two of us with acoustic guitars singing campfire songs.”   They’ve crafted a bold sound, exemplified by lead single ‘Disconnect’ combining ethereal synths, robotic pulses, thwacking drums, and stabbing sax. Second single and title track ‘The Deluge’ emerged from Fanning’s experiment with monochromatic rhythm and vocal melody, coloured by Dempsey’s wild spasms of treated guitar and synth.   With this sonic guiding principle where synthesisers are edging out guitars, their newly announced The Deluge 2025 Regional Tour will take these lauded singer-songwriters into new musical terrain as they perform across the country from March - May.   The two singer-songwriters’ solo works and monumental respective bands, Powderfinger and Something For Kate, account for nine number one albums, millions of sales, a staggering 38 songs in Triple J’s Hottest 100, scores of awards from ARIA to APRA and beyond, and reputations among the most skilled and thoughtful writers of their generation.  ‘The Deluge’ is Out Now via Dew Process / Universal Music: Listen Here  FANNING DEMPSEY NATIONAL PARK The Deluge 2025 Regional Tour www.fanningdempseynationalpark.com  Thur April 3rd - Beach Hotel, Byron Bay, NSW (Great Southern Nights) Thur May 1st  -  Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns QLD Thur May 8th  -  Odeon, Hobart, TAS Fri May 9th  -  Costa Hall, Geelong, VIC Sat May 10th  -  Civic Hall, Ballarat, VIC Sun May 11th  -  Ulumbarra Theatre, Bendigo, VIC Fri May 16th  -  Civic Theatre, Newcastle, NSW Sat May 17th  -  Anita’s Theatre, Thirroul, NSW Sun May 18th  - Theatre Centre, Canberra, ACT Thur May 22nd  Powerhouse, Toowoomba, QLD Fri May 23rd - Venue 114, Sunshine Coast, QLD Sat May 24th -  HOTA, Gold Coast, QLD

Bernard Fanning Biography

Bernard Fanning (born 15 August 1969) from Brisbane, Australia, is best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Powderfinger.

From 1994 to 2004 Powderfinger released five albums, a double CD live album, and a Best Of, after which they decided to take a break. Fanning's solo album Tea & Sympathy was released in October 2005 and debuted at #1 on the Australian ARIA Albums chart. Singles released from this album were Wish You Well, Songbird and Watch Over Me.

Fanning won three ARIA awards in 2006, Best Male Artist, Album of the Year for Tea and Sympathy, and Best Music Video for Wish You Well. In the same year Wish You Well was voted in at #1 on Australian youth radio station Triple J's 2005 Hottest 100 poll.

Fanning also contributed songs to the 2003 film Ned Kelly including Shelter for My Soul and a cover of the traditional song Moreton Bay.

Powderfinger released their 6th studio album, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence in June 2007 and are touring with Silverchair in the autumn. Therefore it is unlikely Fanning will release a second solo album soon.
