Allan Taylor Biography
Allan Taylor began his career in the folk clubs in the Brighton area when he was 17 years old influenced by Davey Graham, after supporting Fairport Convention at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1970 he came to the attention of Liberty Records who signed him up. His debut album "Sometimes" was recorded in Techniques Studio in Chelsea, (Fairport Convention and Nick Drake also recorded there) it was produced by Tony Cox it also featured contributions from a few members of Fairport Convention. After two more albums with the label, He signed to Chrysalis for the 1976 release "Cajun Moon".
For 30 years Allan Taylor has been considered as the consummate performer, a writer of literary gracefulness whose troubadour chronicles encapsulate the realism of otherwise unsung heroes, otherwise uncharted lives. His songs are faultlessly constructed and flawlessly performed, with his instantly recognizable voice, attractively dark and mellow, accompanied by his intricately detailed yet full-sounding guitar.
