William Hinson and his band were tight and full of energy. His songs (generally performed acoustically) had a different vibe and integrated unique dynamics for the live performance. The Flat Iron was a great venue and the sound perfect.

William Hinson is a self-produced indie pop singer-songwriter who originally hails from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Residing at the confluence of indie-pop and singer-songwriter genres, William Hinson, an artist from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, crafts soundscapes that have earned him comparisons to The Beatles, The 1975, and Ed Sheeran. His performances have the verve and charisma of Paul McCartney intertwined with the wit and charm of Steve Martin, creating a uniquely captivating stage presence. William fuses catchy, relatable lyrics with feel-good compositions to create
a sound that has landed him performance slots on radio, festivals, college campuses, and beloved venues such as The Mercury Lounge, The Georgia Theatre, The Evening Muse, The Ramkat, The Grey Eagle, and Cat’s Cradle. William is a favorite alumni of Sofar Sounds having played Sofar NYC, Chicago, DC, Philly, Atlanta, and Boston among many more, and was voted Sofar Greensboro’s Artist of the Year for 2018. He returned from Europe in early 2019, where he played gigs in Sweden and the United Kingdom. William has opened for acts such as Jordy Searcy, The Brook And The Bluff, Arlie, and The Collection across the United States. In 2020, William released his first full length album entitled Everything Will Be Okay. In 2023, his second album Turn Your Frown Inside Out released. In early 2024, his first live album Live! At The Flat Iron, recorded across three shows at his favorite venue, was released.
