Marie Montexier's sound is slick and dynamic, bringing together electrifying grooves from all eras and corners of the globe—classic rave cuts and modern club sounds, thumping party-rockers syncopated beat experiments, all of it mixed seamlessly on vinyl via elegant blends, tight cuts and the occasional cheeky spinback. She has graced top clubs, including fabric, Berghain, and De School, as well as festivals like Pitch Australia, DGTL Amsterdam, Lente Kabinet, Butik, Waterworks, and Love International, while holding a residency at the Berlin party Warning and hosting a show on HÖR. She is a co-founder of Précey, a collective dedicated to supporting women, queer and non-binary artists in the world of dance music and a founder of Paryìa, a label pushing a striking blend of club and experimental sounds. Like her DJ sets, her label makes it perfectly obvious: Marie Montexier is an essential new voice in today's electronic music landscape. A dominant force on the Brooklyn underground scene, Ariana is known for tough, stripped-back techno and groovy, acid-flavored sets. She has been a busy DJ and event producer since 2006 and in that time has headlined with many international stars including Ellen Allien, The Blessed Madonna, Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, Amelie Lens and FJAAK. Brazilian-born and based in NYC since 2011, she rose to international acclaim through her JACK DEPT. party and label based out of Bossa Nova Civic Club. Jack Dept. was a top event of the notorious Brooklyn hotspot that focused on an acidic house party vibe featuring standout DJs and producers from across the burgeoning American scene. Taking things a step further she joined the mighty UNTER party which pushes the harder edges of techno and for the last 7 years has been lauded as the best queer techno event in New York. Raised in Buffalo, New York, her early experiences in the industrial and rave scenes of rust-belt America shaped her outlook on dance culture.
