Johnny Deluxe Biography
The seed to the group's somehow special danish music style was planted in 2000 in England, where Noam Halby aka Johnny Deluxe (lead guitar, vocals) Søren Itenov (guitar, backing vocal) and Jacob Glæsner (bass, keyboards) lived off various music jobs in the English capital.
The band was formed beacuse all three members missed Denmark, the danish mother tongue and to keep it alive they started writing songs in Danish.
Later on they went home to Copenhagen (capital of Denmark) where Morten Lyngaard filled in the seat behind the drums, and where the group entered Danmarks Radios (Danish Radio) popular show for Danish language music, Karrierekanonen (The Career Cannon). They were an instant hit, and Johnny Deluxe got through to the Danish radio listeners with the song Elskovsponey (Pleasurepony). This has been now (aug. 2006) almost two years, an album and numerous concerts ago. In the autum 2005 the group was on the charts with the title song to danish director Jonas Elmers movie "Nynne".
