Jo Harman Biography
Jo Harman is an award winning vocalist who has performed at some of Europe's most prestigious venues, including performing for, and with, the likes of Patti Smith and Joan Baez in Berlin. The Daily Mirror called her 'the finest female soul blues vocalist in the UK' and Huey Morgan said on his Radio 2 programme 'sometimes you hear a voice that leaves you speechless...I am'. She is widely recognised as one of the finest vocalists and writers to emerge in Europe over recent years, and has the CV, and industry admirers, to back it up. Some brief career highlights to date include:-
- her DIY debut album, released in 2013, being picked up V2 Records (Adele, Mumfords) etc in the Low Countries where it made the national album charts (alongside mainstream TV and Radio appearances for Jo)
- she has played around 100 festivals in recent years - many as headliner - across a number of countries, simply by dint of 'word of mouth' reputation, culminating in 4 consecutive appearances at 'BluesFest' - resulting in her 'Jo Harman Live at The Royal Albert Hall recorded by the BBC' live album. Jo was also one of only 12 (otherwise household name) artists to play ParkPop in the Hague to 300,000 people.
- Jo was one of a handful of (otherwise household named) artists asked to appear at Amnesty's 'Ambassador of Conscience' Awards in Berlin where she performed for, and with, Joan Baez (and Patti Smith).
- Jo has just recorded a much anticipated second studio album in Nashville, working with producer Fred Mollin (Carole King, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, BB King etc) which is scheduled to be released early in 2017.
Live, her soul fuelled show ranges from hard rock to intimate, heart-warming ballads and features both her own emotive songwriting, but also personal takes on well-known standards and songs that mean a lot to her.

Stunning…our tip for 2013. Harman’s music mainlines the human soul’ The Blues Magazine (9 out of 10)
“A landmark album” (9 stars) Country Music Magazine
“A veritable superstar on the British blues and roots scene, she really is that good….the voice is a glorious instrument, immensely expressive and with a tone that can send shivers down the spine…this is an astounding record, timeless, rich and powerful …it’s this disc that truly says that she is a star of our time.’” Tone Monkey
