Dave Hughes is
(a) a folk-punk singer-songwriter from Scotland.
(b) an Australian comedian.
(a)Dave Hughes is a political folk singer from Glasgow in Scotland. He plays a type of folk music influenced by DIY punk rock and the 60's folk singer scene of the USA. He has two albums currently out on release on Acoustic Riot records and tends to tour the UK twice each year.
(b)Dave Hughes has risen to fame nation wide due to his regular co-host slot on ABC TV's 'The Glasshouse'. He is a regular at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival where he often hosts sell out gigs. He completed his latest national tour recently called Hughesy Rides Again which took in many regional towns and cities. 'Whatever' (2002) is Dave's only live CD and in 2006 he released a live DVD calld 'Dave Hughes Live'. Hughes also co-hosts a breakfast radio show in Melbourne on 'Nova FM'. He is represented by Token Artists.
