Broadcaster & Vocalist Jumoke Fashola has been described as 'jazz singer who takes risks.' Check out her Debut Album, "The Condition of Being A Woman"
Jumoké has sung most musical forms, from Handel to Gershwin to Gospel to Bernstein, at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival hall and the London Arena. Her solo repertoire comprises an edgy blend of jazz, R&B and soul, eloquently expressed and dynamically delivered. Time Out Magazine describes her as a “Head-spinningly versatile singer". Her debut album, ‘The Condition of Being A Woman’ was released in Feb 2014. She was the creator and host of the monthly Jazz Verse Jukebox (held for 7 years at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club) & at Hoxton Hall, London.
Jumoké currently presents two show fro BBC Radio London - 'Fridays with Jumoké Fashola' 2pm - 6pm & 'Inspirit with Jumoké Fashola', BBC Radio London's Sunday Breakfast magazine programme. She presented BBC Radio 3's 'J to Z' premiere jazz show for 5 years. Other radio credits include The Ronnie Scott's Radio Show on Jazz FM, Late Show (BBC London 94.9fm) You and Yours (Radio 4) Pause for Thought (Radio 2), Everywoman (BBC World Service), Good Morning Sunday (Radio 2). Her TV credits include the Holiday Programme (BBC1), Summer Holiday (BBC1) Summer Praise (BBC1).
