Chamber Music Society closes out its annual concert series at the Purchase PAC with a delightful program of string trios and sextets by Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky. After beginning with Bach, who used six voices to compose his fugue-on-demand for Frederick the Great, the group splits for Classical and Romantic string trios, before re-combining in Strauss’s Sextet from Capriccio and Tchaikovsky’s blockbuster “Souvenir de Florence.” Bach “Ricercar a 6” from Musical Offering, BWV 1079 (1747) Haydn Trio in G major for Violin, Viola, and Cello, Hob.
