Josh Spinner's musical journey is one of dynamic exploration and innovation. Born and raised in Chicago, Josh grew up amidst the city's rich musical landscape, where the sounds of jazz, blues, and rock intertwined. This early exposure laid the foundation for his unique style, which seamlessly blends elements of Indie Rock, Modern Funk, and Twang Country into a feel-good vibe that audiences rave about.
Josh's music is characterized by complex jazz guitar influences and a growing repertoire of original songs that capture the mood of the modern music scene. His notable releases, "Sunshower" and "End of Summer," showcase his jazz roots with a harmonious mix of guitar, saxophone, and keyboard melodies. Meanwhile, early tracks like "I Feel" and "Out of Line" encourage audiences to explode with energy, driven by powerful backbeats and rock guitar jams.
Working closely with producer Alejandro Quiles, a fellow Chicago native and sound engineering student at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Josh writes and performs his original music with precision and passion. This collaboration has resulted in a sound that is both polished and deeply personal, resonating with listeners on multiple levels.
Josh Spinner and his band have graced notable venues across the country, including Schubas Tavern, Subterranean, and Lincoln Hall in Chicago, as well as the Canopy Club in Champaign-Urbana, the Winnetka Music Festival, and the iconic Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, LA. Their live performances are renowned for their infectious energy and the way they draw audiences to their feet.
In August 2024, Josh is set to release his folk album debut, "Feels Right," marking a new chapter in his artistic journey. This upcoming release promises to showcase yet another facet of his musical versatility, blending heartfelt lyrics with the rich, acoustic sounds of folk music.
