About this concert
Alan Parsons began his storied career as an assistant engineer at the famed Abbey Road Studios working on projects such as The Beatles’ "Abbey Road" and "Let It Be." He quickly transitioned into one of the most sought-after names in the recording industry. Other career defining records: Pink Floyd’s "The Dark Side of the Moon," the successful "Year Of The Cat" album with Al Stewart, and two albums with American progressive rock band Ambrosia to name a few. After earning accolades for his work behind the glass, Parsons, a true Renaissance man and talented musician, formed The Alan Parsons Project, a multi-platinum selling progressive rock band featuring Parsons, his collaborator Eric Woolfson and a rotating cast of studio musicians. The Alan Parsons Project released 10 concept albums between 1976-1987 and have sold over 50 million albums world-wide. Certified Billboard Top 40 hit singles include "Eye in the Sky," “Time” and "Don't Answer Me." Since Woolfson’s passing, Parsons now performs with a band of musicians and plays largely Alan Parsons Project material. To date, Parsons has received gold and platinum awards, 13 Grammy Award® nominations and one Grammy®.

Absolutely spectacular. Words fail me. I feel sorry for the younger generations who don't have anyone of this caliber.

The Alan Parsons Project Biography

The Alan Parsons Project is a British rock group, founded by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. The group is based on a number of regular group members such as Stuart Elliot and Ian Bairnson, complemented with varying lead vocals such as Colin Blunstone, Chris Rainbow and Gary Brooker (Procol Harum). But in spite of the changing composition the band consistently plays high quality symphonic rock. The group is well known for its concept albums that cover themes such as Edgar Allan Poe, Gaudi or Freud.

Alan Parsons has an extensive production background, working on, among many other projects, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album as engineer. He was also on the rooftop with the Beatles for the Apple rooftop sessions.

Eric Woolfson wrote most of the lyrics and Alan Parsons the music. They made so-called 'concept albums'. The NBA's Chicago Bulls used the beginning of the Parson's track "Sirius" as their opening lineup music during the Michael Jordan years, it is no longer in use by the NBA Chicago Bulls.

Alan Parsons is still performing live shows, touring all over the world, but without Eric Woolfson.

Alan Parsons produced both Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Abbey Road by the Beatles before going out on his own. He was the only singer to win a Grammy for best vocals, and didn't sing a single song on I Robot.
