Multi-instrumentalist Cory Henry komt naar Groningen! De manier waarop Henry het Hammond B3-orgel in de schijnwerpers zet, heeft hem een grote schare fans opgeleverd. Met zijn nieuwe album Operation Funk zorgt hij op vrijdag 31 maart voor één groot groove-feest met jazz, gospel, funk en pop.
Henry speelt al sinds zijn tweede jaar orgel en sindsdien heeft hij met jazz, gospel en elektronica als bouwstenen een eigen funky sound ontwikkeld. Hij werkte samen met Kirk Franklin, Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway, The Roots, Michael McDonald en Bruce Springsteen. Cory Henry verwierf bekendheid als de energieke motor van fusioncollectief Snarky Puppy. Hij verliet deze band in 2018 om zich meer te focussen op soloprojecten en is inmiddels één van de drijvende krachten achter de hedendaagse jazzscene.

Cory Henry Biography
Simply put, Cory Henry is a Grammy Award Winning Artist, Composer, Producer, Multi-instrumentalist, all-around keyboard master, and is the future of music! In 2021, Cory’s album Something to Say was nominated at the 2022 Grammy Awards for Best Progressive R&B Album, and he was nominated as a producer on Eric Bellinger’s New Light. In 2022, Cory won his first Latin Grammy award for Album of the Year for his work on Rosalía's album Motomami. At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Cory was nominated for his new album Operation Funk for Best Progressive R&B Album and Best Latin Re Dragons, Smino, Lucky Daye, and many more. Cory was previously a member of Snarky Puppy, and during his time in the band, he garnered three Grammy Awards with the band! In 2024, fans around the globe can look forward to an electrifying experience as Cory embarks on a world tour, bringing his unparalleled talent and energy to stages everywhere.
