Doors open 7pm Nadia Sheikh Single Launch Picture an amalgamation of delicate vocals and ominous indie rock. Vocal lines that shift from airy to powerful in the split of a second. Nadia Sheikh is a genre chameleon that mixes strong indie rock tracks with timeless pop tunes and heartfelt acoustic songs. Quirky melodies and catchy choruses that stick with you. With an impressive cultural background, the half British, half Spanish artist has the power to captivate you with her haunting voice. With a debut EP and an array of singles receiving airplay by BBC Introducing, BBCR2, Radio X, RNE and Radio 3 (Spain) Nadia is set to make her mark on the music scene. Nadia has also released a collaboration with Jamie Morrison (soul of Pop Morrison and drummer in Stereophonics), was tipped as one of This Feeling’s ‘Big in 2018’ artists, and has performed all around the UK and Spain, including the Isle of Wight Festival and FIB (Benicassim festival). Her latest single ‘Toxic’ caught the attention of tastemakers, being chosen as John Kennedy Recommends TOTW and being added to the Evening Playlist on Radio X and Planet Rock as well as being played on The Rock Show by Johnnie Walker on BBCR2 and Janice Long on BBC Radio Wales, and by Julio Ruiz and Paula Quintana on Radio 3 (equivalent to BBC6 in Spain). The Novus "The Novus are continuing their meaningful but mega rise to the top of the Brum indie pile, and tonight they snatch the opportunity with both hands – silky, confidence and incredibly on-point, the talent of all members are evident as they lock into purposeful grooves, creamy riffs and splendid vocals." - Counteract The Novus bring energy and balls to everywhere they go which is conveyed by their latest track BREAK, delivering a raw, gritty, garage rock vibe with splashes of punk and rebellion - they know somethings not right and they’re making a stand with their ‘ left hand held high ‘. A metaphorical breath of fresh air is what the lads bring to the table, a literal breath of fresh air is whats needed after belting out their huge new tune. The band explain what new track ‘ Break ‘ is all about: “ The people above us, the establishment, government, those kind of people have failed us as young people, and working class people, as people in general and we wanna make that known and make stand against it - but we wanna have fun with it, we want people to sing the words back to us, bounce around, get a bit sweaty and have a laugh.” - Break Bexatron 'Born out of the spirit of Bruno’s Café in the heart of SoHo, Bexatron have been ‘giving it back’ to London ever since. Home of The Marquee Club, The Ship Pub, Bruno’s Cafe and the St Moritz Club, London’s infamous Wardour Street has created an edge that has resulted in some of the best music to come out of the United Kingdom for a generation. As one of London’s most exciting new talents, Bexatron have been drawing critical acclaim across the UK. Recognized for their high energy performances, original material that draws on influences from Blondie to the punk bands of the 80’s and their dedication to a growing fan base, Bexatron appeal to music lovers from the college market to ’boomers’ who are loyal to the band’s music which is both unique and fresh. Vocalist BeXXX, lead guitarist Greg Paco Radcliffe, bassist Adam Adorjan and drummer Belle Star create a live experience ensuring that fans never leave a show disappointed. Over the past two years Bexatron have toured extensively playing both headline shows and supporting such well known acts as Republica, The Blockheads and Maxiimo Park. Their festival appearances have included Camden Rocks, Loud in London and the Punk n’ Roll Festival.' Slobheads WE'RE A TWO PIECE TRASH PUNK BAND FROM SOUTH-WEST LONDON!

This was a memorable evening only rather tainted by poor sound quality (imho). The two up and coming first bands were good fun and did well, especially the lead singer and guitarist of the second group who was very entertaining. Nadia stole the show however with a great mixture of strong lyrics and rhythms then a quiet keyboard ballad. Rowan on bass was excellent and George on drums worked extremely hard with tight precision and spot on timing. All in all, this was a treat for two over 60s just married and glad to be at a live gig again! Well done everyone 😊

Nadia Sheikh Biography

From performing at Glastonbury, Kendal Calling and Y Not Festival to recording a brand new EP produced by Joe Cross (Louis Tomlinson, Courteeners, Hurts…), Nadia Sheikh's 2022 has been full of highlights. Now armed with a new set of songs, she's set to continue building on the momentum generated by her live shows in 2022 and her previous EP "Undefined" produced by Brett Shaw (FOALS, Florence and the Machine, Lady Gaga...), which received widespread support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X, Radio 3 (Spain), CLASH, Line of Best Fit and Fresh On The Net.

The British / Spanish artist, who writes and records in both English and Spanish, has toured extensively throughout Europe with previous highlights encompassing Isle of Wight Festival, FIB (Benicassim Festival), Spanish national television (Los Conciertos de Radio 3), and supporting Stereophonics across 19 dates of their 2020 European tour, including sold-out Manchester Arena and Cardiff Arena shows.

Nadia started the new year releasing "The Shadows" and "Quiet", the first singles of her upcoming EP. Played on BBC Radio 6 (Chris Hawkins), Radio X (John Kennedy) and Planet Rock Radio (Wyatt Wendels), "The Shadows" also got her her first BBC Radio 1 play with Nels Hylton and first Spotify Editorial playlist (Noteable Releases), and both songs were added to TikTok's New Music and Alt+Indie Official Playlists.
