Heather Rae Biography
Heather Rae is a Soul Pop singer, songwriter, producer and recording artist based in Nashville, TN. Her refreshingly unique sound is a blend of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Sara Bareilles.
Born and raised in Minot, North Dakota to two musicians, her passion for the arts was obvious at a young age and she started playing piano at the age of 3. She was soon a published poet and had won numerous music awards around the state before entering high school. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, where she performed as a D1 hockey cheerleader, she broke out into the entertainment industry as a figure skater, singer and emcee in professional ice shows. While singing and skating alongside some of the best figure skaters in the world, she fell in love with the high pace environment of show business.
In 2018, she attended a songwriting conference in Nashville that changed the course of her life forever. Within days of returning home, she bought a guitar, joined a local songwriting group and never looked back. In 2020, she moved to Nashville and was soon performing in various venues throughout the city, including the Bluebird Cafe and the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Since then, she has made a name for herself as a powerhouse vocalist and sharp-witted songwriter. The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) has named Heather Rae as a One-to-Watch amongst today’s rising songwriters.
In 2023, Heather Rae released her debut EP Liberosis. The word “liberosis” is defined as the desire to care less and loosen one’s grip on life, and the collection of songs showcases her own journey in letting go of ego, reputation and the habit of overthinking. She ended the year by touring the country as the headlining singer of a Christmas on Ice theater show.
With a surge of streams and listeners all across the United States, Europe and Australia, Heather Rae is gearing up to release her next project in 2024. Her music will continue to convey deep truths about the human experience by showcasing the euphoria of newfound love while contrasting it with the dark side of manipulation and toxicity.
