Something raucous walks this way. Toronto quartet The Slime come crawling out of the city’s west end playing anthemic and aggressive hardcore punk the way the subgenre was meant to be played. Powered by an array of influences including tinnitus and lounge acts from Hell, The Slime are mutants to watch.
The Slime came out swinging with their first demo in the summer of 2019 and quickly followed it up with their debut album, Bitter Dream. Less than a year later, they released Coming Soon to an Alley Near You EP, which earned the band considerable praise from online critics and radio shows.
The Slime came out of the pandemic as the strongest version of the band to date. Their next EP, Living on Borrowed Slime, is due out this spring, preceded by the single “Death Champs” and its B-side, “We Shine.” Living on Borrowed Slime is the whole package, combining the band’s aggression and apocalyptic worldview with their love for B-movie horror and partying.
