Helios Creed? What can one say? He's either a brilliant master or a deranged burn out.
In the late 70's and early 80's he was partnered with Damon Edge in the mighty Chrome. Along with Suicide, The Residents and Tuxedomoon, Chrome sparked the movement that became Industrial and onward to today's Techno and Trance.
After Chrome's dissolution Creed went solo and in '85 released "X-rated Fairy Tales." And he hasn't looked back since, churning out album after album that grind out chords and effects to make one's head spin.
His most accessible album to date was "Kiss To The Brain" released on Amphetamine Reptile Records. "Cyber Punk" has often been a "Tag" to refer to Creed's sound. But often his music can be straightforward Post-Punk rebellion or ascend into the stratosphere on Floydian epics for the chemically altered.
No one else sounds like Helios Creed. No one! And for that reason alone he must be respected. Helios Creed deserves his place "On the Dark side of the Sun."
