About Blackie and the Oohoos

BLACKIE & THE OOHOOS If you were innocently seduced by their first album, the second will surely leave you wrecked upon the cliffs. There’s no escape from the siren song of the Maieu sisters! In early November, Blackie & the Oohoos will be releasing their 2nd studio album, their first release with Unday/NEWS (see also Yuko, Flying Horseman,…). The band’s choice of producer Pascal Deweze (Sukilove, The Van Jets, Creature with the Atom Brain,…) this time resulted in some potent chemistry. “Song for two sisters” is suffused with a dark, otherworldly atmosphere full of underlying dread. The psychedelic dreampop and spooky folk from their debut is back but the songs and lyrics have a more mature, eccentric and distilled quality. “Song for two sisters” is an impressive album. The delicious multipart vocals combined with their highly original sound has a smouldering appeal! For those looking for references, Beach House, Mazzy Star, David Lynch and Beth Gibbon give a general idea. https://soundcloud.com/blackieandtheoohoos
