About Bed
There is more than one artist with this name:
1) Bed is a French band. Bed don't play new-wave, they play the memories of 80s pop and new-wave music echoing in your mind. The kind of memories that create disappointment when faced with the original source. Well, there's no need for disappointment anymore, as those sounds now actually exist outside your mind in the music of bed.
2) Bed are a Kyoto-based indie rock band.
Members from diary tree and scroll started Bed in June 2005.
They released 1st EP "turn it off" in February 2007. 1st album will be released in 2008.
3) The Bed project is driven by one man alone. Composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Benoît Burello is the driving force and key figure in the group he put together.
Since 1995, under the deceptively cosy Bed moniker, he's been setting lyrics by his favourite authors — the likes of Henry David Thoreau, Henry Miller, Walt Whitman and William Carlos Williams — to music. His compositions sound at times like intimate precursors to rock, and are clearly marked by his passion for the jazz of Ornette Coleman, the spacey sounds of Cale, the explosive energy of Sonic Youth and the musical freedom as well as discretion of Mark Hollis.
