DjSamy

DJ Samy is a turntablist, portablist, International DJ, video maker, entrepreneur and hip hop enthusiast. Native of Casablanca (Morocco), he settled in france in 1998 for his studies. DJ Samy turned on his first turntable in 2001 in France. He spent years playing as a resident DJ and performed alongside several artists such as Fatman Scoop, 50 Cent, DJ Whoo Kid, The Pharcyde, DJ Cut Killer... He held multiple residencies in France and performed in festivals in Morocco. (Festival de Casablanca, Morocco Hit Parade, Festival Timitar, Sun festival...) He won in 2010 the first edition of MASTER DJ MOROCCO by Hit Radio and RedBull. In the same year, he also was at the final of NRJ Radio Contest (France). Early 2014, he participated in the show « Korsa Live » on 2M TV (Morocco), his first television show before Djing for Shayfeen, one of the leading bands of the Moroccan Rap Hip Hop scene. In 2016, Dj Samy launched the #Scratcheverywhere movement. The main idea is to scratch everywhere and anywhere using only portable turntables and portable faders allowing scratcher DJ’s to leave their booths and nightclubs for more exciting locations. The movement grew rapidly on social networks & received support from Numark in early 2016. Early 2017, Dj Samy collaborates with mixvibes to show the infinite possibilities of using Remixlive when scratching everywhere. Today, DJ SAMY lives btw Casablanca & Marseille and is the ambassador of the portablism culture in France. He recently launched a new project: « #Scratcheverywhere: Spreading the portablism culture worldwide ». His ambition is to inspire and unite more DJs globally to share the portablism culture and bring more ideas about the future of making music on the go!
