About The Circle
the circle were formed in Spring 2009 in Rowlett, Texas but did not take full shape until the summer of 2009. The members all started as strangers meeting through Craigslist, however it is now understood that they were brought together by fate. Their sound is heavy on driving guitar riffs and stirring vocal hooks that will take you to a place where ordinary Rock/Alt-Metal bands can't go. Their relentless attention to musical detail and hard work results in a sound that cannot be denied by the local music scene. This is no cookie-monster, screamo sound; this is musical and thoughtful all the while being aggressive and in your face. Their lyrics deal with rejection, love, and hope as well as other emotions and thoughts that we all share.
2012 proved to be a whirlwind a year for the band. After the addition of Don at center stage, they blew the doors off the annual/semi annual World Series of Metal show at the House of Blues by playing main support for the bands 76 and Texas Hippie Coalition. Thus starting their meteoric rise amongst the ranks of the top Dallas/Fort Worth rock bands. Top area venues are now accessible to the circle and they are playing them often with other top local acts as well as national touring bands.
Not only did they double their show schedule from 2011, they also went into the studio with renown producer Alex Gerst of Empire Sound Studio (formerly Indian Trails Recording Studio) for their debut single “Sleep On It.” The track dominated the local show on D/FW Rock Station 97.1 KEGL the Eagle for 6 straight weeks winning the weekly battle of the bands contest against some of the areas top bands. Adding to the airtime, “Sleep on it” has spent several weeks in the top 10 most requested songs on UntappedRadio.com weekly countdown show. Untappedradio.com features the world’s best-unsigned rock and metal bands with in the neighborhood of 4,000 web hits per day. “…I’m pretty certain that song is the epitome of rock n’ roll,” says Jordan Buford of The Music Enthusiast fame. He could be on to something…
In 2013, the circle picked up where they left off being included in big local shows at top venues. April saw a SXSW appearance & the Hard Rock Rising finals, and in July the boys released their debut EP entitled "Who I Am, " available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. In November they were awarded a plaque of their likeness to adorn the hallowed halls of The Curtain Club in Dallas, alongside many a Texas legend.
2016 saw a few lineup changes renewed focus on taking over the world. Until that happens, check out www.facebook.com/freethecircle for more information; show schedules, photos and other fun stuff.
