Stefan Popov

Stefan Popov was born in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. Since youth, he is drawn to classical music, particularly Andrea Bocelli and Vanessa Mae. He is also a big fan of Enigma. He first encountered electronic music when he was 10 years old.Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Sonique, Freestylers, Bomfunk MC`s and Music Instructor were his musical guide for several years, until the moment of truth came. In 2008, his brother played him a set of the notorious but totally unknown to Stefan, Robbie Rivera. He is so captivated by what he hears that he starts to take interest in the music he listens to. This is the moment that Stefan Popov falls in love with House music. Since then, artists like Deep Dish, Sultan & Ned Shepperd, 16 Bit Lolitas, Robbie Rivera have become his favorites and their work makes him want to take the next step. In 2010 he purchases professional equipment and starts to learn how to mix, from dusk till dawn. Just a few months after his first attempts, he gets his first gig. By 2013, Stefan Popov has played in some of the most famous clubs in his city. Yalta Club, Mascara, Club 365, Blender, Tiffany are just a small part of the places he has performed in. His biggest achievement however, is the warm up he did, for the trance giants Above & Beyond before they went on stage on the Spirit Of Bourgas` 2013 festival. He owes this entirely to his mentor, the resident in Yalta Club, Juan Alvarez. Stefan Popov is his apprentice and everything he is capable of, is thanks to Juan and the countless hours Stefan spent with his headphones on. Now Stefan participates in the preparation of Juan Alvarez’s radio show on Radio Nova – Warm Up. Stefan hasn’t got his own production yet but is working hard for that to change because his dream is to make people dance to the beat of his own tracks. Music Lover.
