About Daan
Daan (Stuyven) is a Belgian artist who makes electronic-inspired music. He had his first success in 1998 with his alternative group Dead Man Ray (together with ex-dEUS member Rudy Trouvé ). Since 1999 he also makes solo-albums. His first album (Profools 1999) was still under great influence of his Dead Man Ray-music although it sounded more pop. His next albums (Bridge Burner, Victory and The Player) had a lot more electronic influences. Several smash hits such as Swedish Designer Drugs and Housewife were in the Belgian top charts for months. He's best known for the kitsch in his songs but he has proven with his compilation (Cinema) that he can also create very qualitative soundtracks. Daan's last CD is called The Player (2006) and has much more symphonical sounds. It looks like he is testing his public how far he can go. The first single The Player scored very well on the Belgian radios.
