Mike Watt

It was a fantastic show, with Watt continuing to hold down his ferocious bass lines in another freeform and tight trio. Opening bands Bed Makers (fronted by Ian Mackaye’s sister Amanda) and the prodigious sonic boom of the Motherf$&ers made this an awesome live event. Pearl St Warehouse is a great venue.

A terrific bill of Bed Maker, JMB & Co., and headliners mssv — as the man in the van with the bass in his hand exclaimed at one point… “BASS”!

This is the third time I have seen Mike Watt. He always plays well, and the Co-Opt in Lubbock is a cool venue.

Great show with Corsano and Baiza!!!

It was so interesting seeing and hearing Watt in this context. Free improvisation and ambient noise isn't for everyone, though, and I saw a number of audience members disappear during the set. I loved it plus Derek Monypeny blew me away with his meditative approach.

Great set. I think it was all new material, instrumental. Mike Baggetta is an excellent guitarist. Watt did a vocal encore. Scott Amendola and Henry Kaiser opened.

Mike Watt is always incredible and this show was no exception. Same goes for the venue, Mississippi Studios. Cozy and intimate, it attracts a friendly audience and the shows there are always top notch. Oh, and definitely check out the opening band, The Mascaras - fantastic. They earned their way onto my list of Tracked Artists.

I just wish it was longer!
