Distance In Embrace – Dead Men Can't Dance
DISTANCE IN EMBRACE might be called some kind of „dinosaur“ within the Hardcore scene. Their debut album „The Consequence Of Illusions“ was released in 2005 by Horror Business Records. Since then seven long years have passed, in which the scene transformed faster and more manifold than Optimus Prime in all three Transformers movies. The band was founded in times when Hardcore did not have much to do with gaudy headbands, tiger-patterned leggings and questionable lyrics about boobs and vaginas. The kids went to Hardcore shows because of the music, and not in order to show off their tattooed chest or their ridiculous „Tough-Guy“-attitude.
Nowadays, DISTANCE IN EMBRACE's musical role models aren't even well-known anyways: Back in 2004 REFUSED „was“ fucking dead, THRICE was not a crappy Indie band, DAYS IN GRIEF was still on the road and who the fuck is RAISED FIST?
Wait a second... doesn't this sound exactly like the same old story of „everything-used-to-be-better- in-the-good-old-days“? Don't you worry! If you think that DISTANCE IN EMBRACE should be thrown on the scrap heap, you're definitely on the wrong track. With „The Best Is Yet To Come“ the four musicians from Minden (Germany) are upping the ante again: They deliver a true piece of modern Hardcore, which indeed does not deny its punk rock roots, but is clearly a contemporary work between ferocity and blandness, without overshooting the mark. Having said this: The best is yet to come!
