Joan as Police Woman

Joan as Police Woman solo is really not to be missed. Especially in a setting like this where the sound travels freely and flawlessly. Steinway piano - chef's kiss! It was a captivating experience to follow her through her songs old and new, often with new arrangements on either piano or guitar. Almost two hours of bliss.

Joan was as outstanding as ever.Her between songs comments were fabulous too..."Thank you for supporting live music...welcome to my matinee show" were especially piquant. The songs, the voice and the performance were all great. Joan also said that she loved the venue, citing it as her favourite, and l'm a big fan of it too.

Fabulous solo show. Joan builds an atmosphere of calm, passion, and romantic melancholy with her wit and musicianship - delicate vocals and intricate melodies. The gig at Exeter Phoenix was all standing and the 1 hour 40 minutes set help the audience enraptured. I've been a fan for nearly 15 years - first time seeing her live. Well worth the visit!

She has an amazing presence and her voice and muscianship are amazing. So great to see her live in the amazing venue of Kaufleuten.

My decision to fly into Minneapolis and see Joan as Police Woman was a bit spontaneous, but to say it was well worth it would be a massive understatement. Her performance was beyond gorgeous and moved me to tears multiple times throughout that magical evening. Joan has a way of commanding rapt attention through gentle tenderness, and every soul in that room was cared for and cherished by her that evening. The folks at First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis were amazing hosts. I had to come directly from the airport, and the society member (I forget their title) acting as the ticket taker was kind enough to accommodate my luggage. The space itself is gorgeous; you can feel the warmth and radical acceptance before you even set foot through the door. Special shoutout to Chris Stedman for putting this show together and being a magnificent light in his own right.

Beautiful venue with a very talented musician. First time seeing her solo and she did not disappoint!

Joan and her band gave a stellar performance. The Solution is Restless played live was exciting to hear and the refreshed back catalogue songs left us wanting more . Joan is such a lovely person, her warmth and interactions with her band and the crowd made the evening a wonderful experience. I can't wait to see them again!

Have seen her 3 times - this was favourite. I like the direction she has gone on the lastest LP and the piano synth drums and bass setup is intricate and grooves. Joan was as ever in fine voice.

As great as ever. Splendid piano and fender solos. Magic voice despite the heat and constant popping cans opening noises from the 2 bars top of the stalls. She made some funny jokes of that. A star.

The best Joan show yet!! I’ve been to four, two in Adelaide and one in Melbourne about 4 years ago? Such a great production on all levels. We especially loved the country feel of the hall and the small audience, making a super intimate vibe. Thank you 🙏✨

Great show. Great funky band. Joan singing beautifully. My only minor gripes are that the setlist is too heavy on Damned Devotion (so only a handful of older songs) and that standing would have had a better atmosphere than the seated crowd.

JAPW were superb. This was the first time I'd seen them live and they surpassed my already high expectations (as I love Joan's albums). The band is tight and there were some lovely surprise variations, notably Joan's violin for Get Direct, and funked up guitar on The Magic. But she sustains her vocal melodies in all their subtlety and her voice is incredibly powerful live. She is very much in the moment and a hugely evocative performer. Plus it's a band who clearly have fun on stage. Go see!

rare opp to see her first performance of the new album at a very intimate venue. they sounded great, and the a cappella encore was awesome!
