Elysian

elysian (ih-lee-zhuh n) 1) n. paradise. a utopia. nowhere. 2) adj. A state of mind in which you are free from the confines of outside forces coercing you to do what they tell you to and able to make your own choices and choose your own destiny 3) a rock band from Houston, TX consisting of members: Thomas Sustaita- Vox Cody Stephens – Guitar Layne Dittmann – Guitar Channing Sall – Low End Matt James – Percussion Elysian is a self-made band who has seen first hand how the music industry has changed greatly over the last 10 years. They say that “everybody’s gone radio; everything just sounds the same- like mush. It seems there is no emotion to the stuff that’s being pumped out- just thoughtless noise.” Well the noise pumped out by the guys in Elysian is anything but thoughtless. Their lyrics are drawn from real life lessons and the world around them, while the music seems to rush and swirl around you with driving riffs and soaring melodies. Their first EP entitled “The Takeover” has led them to play amongst great artists such as Flaw, Hed PE, and Shineshank as well as dozens of talented local artists. The momentum is building up as the group gears up to record their first full-length album this winter- with a release date for spring 2011.
